Road trip by car with L through North California and East Oregon, passing by many volcanoes in the Cascades.
This was in July 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the midst of major protests across the country against unjust police violence and systemic inequality. In the large majority of places we visited, including remote areas, almost everybody was wearing face coverings, especially indoors.
